Job Overview:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth running of lessons when the regular teacher is absent. You will supervise students, ensure engagement with pre-prepared work, manage behaviour, and create a positive and productive learning environment. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in students’ learning experiences while gaining valuable classroom experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes in the absence of the teacher, keeping students on task and focused.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure students complete assigned work.
  • Manage student behaviour according to school policies, maintaining a safe and structured environment.
  • Support students with additional needs to help them engage with learning.
  • Keep classrooms organised and tidy.
  • Communicate effectively with students and school staff regarding any issues or incidents.
  • Report back to school staff on classroom activities and challenges.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities as required.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Experience working with children is essential; classroom experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is required.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to different school environments.
