Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant who is fluent in Welsh to join our school community. This role is ideal for someone who wants to support the learning and development of students in a bilingual environment. As a Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting both individual and group learning, helping students engage with their lessons, and fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom teaching and assist with delivering lessons in both English and Welsh.
  • Work with individual students or small groups to provide targeted support for learning.
  • Help students develop their Welsh language skills through engaging activities and interventions.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and provide pastoral support where necessary.
  • Assist teachers in managing classroom activities and preparing resources.
  • Monitor and report on students’ progress, helping identify areas where additional support is needed.
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents, using Welsh as required.

Essential Criteria:

  • Fluent in Welsh, both spoken and written.
  • Experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • A commitment to providing a high standard of support and care for students.
  • A positive attitude and a genuine passion for working with children.

Desirable:

  • Experience as a teaching assistant or in a related role.
  • A relevant qualification in education or child development (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
  • Knowledge of the Welsh curriculum.
