HLTA Teaching Assistant

Role Overview:
As a HLTA at Teachmatch, you will be working closely with teachers to deliver effective learning support to students across all year groups. You will be responsible for providing tailored support for both individual students and small groups, assisting in the planning and delivery of lessons, and helping to assess and track progress.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in planning, delivering, and evaluating lessons and activities
  • Provide high-quality support for students, including those with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Lead small group or one-to-one interventions to support learning and development
  • Assist with classroom management to ensure a positive and productive learning environment
  • Assess and record students’ progress and provide feedback to teachers
  • Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Support students with their social and emotional development, promoting their well-being and resilience

Key Requirements:

  • A Level 3 or 4 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant, with knowledge of the national curriculum
  • Experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A passion for education and helping students reach their potential
  • A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required before appointment.
