Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educators in fostering a positive learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly those with autism and special educational needs. This role is crucial in helping students achieve their educational goals while promoting their social and emotional development.
Duties

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities tailored to the needs of individual students.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students, particularly those with autism or special educational needs, ensuring they are included in all classroom activities.
  • Help create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning and personal growth.
  • Monitor student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to teachers on individual performance.
  • Facilitate small group tutoring sessions to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to promote a collaborative approach to education.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to mentoring and educating children.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with autism or special educational needs, is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with students and staff.
  • Experience in tutoring or mentoring roles is an advantage.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to supporting the diverse needs of students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to take initiative when required.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or child development are beneficial but not essential.
