This role is ideal for Teaching Assistants who are confident supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and are looking for flexible or consistent work.

The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with SEMH needs within mainstream, SEND and integrated resource provisions. Roles range from day-to-day cover to long-term placements, depending on your availability and preference. You will play a key role in creating a stable, nurturing environment where pupils can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH needs, including behaviour regulation and emotional support
  • Support teachers with lesson delivery and adapt activities to meet individual needs
  • Implement positive behaviour management strategies to promote engagement and consistency
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to teachers and relevant professionals
  • Work collaboratively with school staff to ensure continuity of support
  • Follow all safeguarding policies and procedures to maintain pupil safety and wellbeing

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs
  • Confidence managing behaviour and supporting emotional regulation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A calm, patient and empathetic approach
  • Ability to adapt across day-to-day, short-term and long-term cover
