  • Teach groups of no more than 8 students who have been excluded from a mainstream primary school
  • To plan and teach a broad and balanced curriculum to students (KS1 or KS2)
  • Fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document
  • Meet the expectations set out in the Teachers’ Standards

Key duties:

  • Plan and teach well-structured lessons following the school’s plans, curriculum and schemes of work
  • To support student’s social and emotional development, including teaching PSHE, supporting and encouraging disaffected students to engage with education, building effective relationships with parents/carers.
  • Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and achievements of students, making accurate and productive use of assessment.
  • Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of students
