Art Teacher (KS4) – Specialist SEND School

Location: Wirral area
Contract: Full-time, long-term (with potential to become permanent)
Start Date: Immediately
Salary: Competitive / Dependent on experience

About the School

TeachMatch is proud to be working with a truly unique specialist school on the Wirral, set across beautiful, nature-inspired campuses designed to nurture creativity and wellbeing. The school provides an exceptional environment for students with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), blending innovative teaching with therapeutic approaches to help every pupil achieve their full potential.

With state-of-the-art classrooms, specialist outdoor spaces, and a strong focus on holistic education, this school is ideal for teachers who are passionate about supporting students through both academic and personal growth.

About the Role

We’re seeking a passionate, creative, and resilient Art Teacher to join the KS4 team. This role requires someone who can adapt lessons to meet the needs of students with SEMH, and foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, accessible art lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Inspire creativity through a range of media, from traditional techniques to digital art
  • Confidently manage challenging behaviour while maintaining a calm and supportive classroom
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and pastoral staff to provide wrap-around support
  • Contribute to school-wide creative projects and enrichment activities

About You

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Hold QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (Art specialism preferred)
  • Have experience teaching KS4 students, ideally within a special or SEMH setting
  • Are resilient, adaptable, and confident in managing challenging behaviour
  • Value inclusion, creativity, and personal development as much as academic achievement
  • Believe in the power of art to support emotional wellbeing, self-expression, and personal growth
